We caught up with the Surf City native to find out more. A: I first heard of the show during Season 2 when Kristina Krauss was one of the contestants. A: A country girl to me is someone completely different compared to a person from my hometown, Huntington Beach, with different morals, a different way of life and more. I was born and raised here and went to Edison High School. There were some good relationships, but also some rocky ones. I think something new and fresh will be good for me. A: I really enjoyed being in a house with a bunch of random guys who had different backgrounds than I do. We had such a good time together and got to experience the Southern culture.

In her free time, she loves to spend time on the lake or at the beach and enjoys rodeos, hunting, fishing and watching sports. Duke owns two dogs that she adores and is hoping to find the perfect man to add to the mix. Smith loves the rodeo life and comes from a long line of rodeo cowboys including his father.

Jersey City bachelor looking for love on CMT’s ‘Sweet Home Alabama’
Like the biblical prophet sharing his first name, Jeremiah Korfe claimed he was bad with words — but the raw emotions came through in “Sweet Home Alabama,” CMT’s reality dating show. The Clarissa farmer and musician was chosen at the finale by southern belle bachelorette Paige Duke. His mother, Linda Korfe, and one of his sisters, Heidi Berg, also had a surprise appearance in the last episode. However, Duke has said on Facebook and in media interviews that she had chosen Korfe from the beginning and their connection was love at first sight.
The couple kept their relationship secret for the airing of the show and were finally seen in public at the end of a viewing party in Canada. On the first episode, Korfe’s reaction to meeting Duke was that he felt like he was 12 years old again.

But it’s not exactly what you think: The two met back in when Kelsey was the bachelorette on CMT’s reality dating show, “Sweet Home Alabama,” where she had to pick a winner from 22 men from the country and 11 from big cities. Collin, a Birmingham native, was one of the “country” men. Kelsey says though she wasn’t necessarily expecting to find a match from the show, much less a husband, she was interested in Collin even before the show filmed.
The show did her one better and convinced Collin to come back for a second season. While filming in Fairhope, Alabama, Kelsey says she still was skeptical that she would find true love, but nevertheless enjoyed getting to know Collin. She ended up picking Collin, but the show did not end in a proposal. When filming wrapped in early October, Kelsey, a native of Tuscaloosa returned to Los Angeles to continue her modeling career, while Collin remained in Birmingham.
Over the next four months, before the show’s finale aired in January, the new couple dated long distance and in secret. I think that made us really close–just being forced to stay in together. I always say the Lord took me 2, miles to meet someone that lived 45 minutes from me in Alabama. It was during those four months, Kelsey says, that she realized she was in love with Collin. For Collin, it was clear Kelsey was the one from the moment he met her.
The couple continued to date long distance for the next year until Kelsey moved back to Alabama in March of They were engaged by December of that year.
UA student stars in CMT reality dating show “Sweet Home Alabama”
Collin Varallo was standing in line for the Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil in Birmingham in late April when he was approached by a man with a folder. The man identified himself as a recruiter for a new reality dating show for Country Music Television and told Varallo, a year-old Birmingham resident who graduated from Pelham High School in , he would be a good fit for the show.
By the end of May, he had packed his bags for Fairhope for a month of filming.
Bubba Thompson, 30, of Geneva is one of 22 suitors vying for a bachelorette’s affections in the third season of the CMT dating reality show.
Danny Martinez, 25, a student at New Jersey City University who lives in Jersey City Heights, will compete against 10 other “city slickers” and 11 “country boys” to win the heart of Alabama beauty Kelsey Smith in the show’s episode fourth season. Martinez, who is majoring in finance while also pursuing a modeling career, said he chose to be on the show because he was “looking for love” and wanted to “explore. Martinez, who has a German mother, a Dominican father, and eight siblings, said he had heard of the show before a friend convinced him to apply to be on it, but that he had never sat through a full episode.
In his show biography, Martinez boasts that he “loves partying so much that he averages around 12 hours of sleep every week,” although in an interview he admitted it’s more like 20 hours. During the show, Martinez stayed in a house in Fairhope, Ala. Besides being unaccustomed to living with so many other men, he said there were cultural differences between himself and the “country boys. Martinez said he planned on having a watch party with family and friends when the show premieres on CMT on Nov.

When asked how his parents felt about him dating a Southern woman, Martinez said his parents would be content with whomever he brought home at the end of the day, as long as she was a “good person” and made him happy.
